Colon Hydrotherapy
Colon Hydrotherapy is a gentle therapy, which involves the slow introduction of warm, filtered water into the colon via the rectum. The water is introduced at a very low and carefully controlled pressure. The water, combined with gentle abdominal massage, helps to soften faecal matter and hardened deposits so that they can be expelled naturally by your colon and piped away with the waste water. We use Wood Gravity method (closed system). It is completely hygienic as all equipment is disposable and sterile. Also rest assured that your modesty is preserved at all times.
HEALTH BENEFITS
Benefits of Colon Hydrotherapy: As this works by encouraging the natural function of the colon (as opposed to using suction – which is a common myth) it can aid in the functional rehabilitation of the colon. It can be useful in helping with conditions such as:
• Constipation
• diarrhoea
• Irritable Bowel Syndrome
• Spastic Colon
• Atonic (Sluggish) Colon
Encouraging the elimination of lingering waste and intestinal gas can also help with other digestive problems like:
• Diverticulosis (not when inflamed)
• Bloating
• Flatulence
• Indigestion
• Candida
• Parasites
Colonics can also be beneficial to those with the following conditions, especially if they are linked to poor elimination or compromised gut function:
• Allergies
• Arthritis
• Asthma
• Halitosis (Bad breath)
• Multiple Sclerosis
Skin problems: eczema, acne, psoriasis

FAQs
-
It rarely is. Generally speaking, the more relaxed you are throughout - the more comfortable it is. Most people are pleasantly surprised at just how comfortable it is.
-
If you are comfortable to have the session at this time of the month, the therapist has no problem with it.
-
Yes. However new patients are advised to relax in our library for 15 minutes after the session where you can use the toilet and drink plenty of water.
-
Absolutely; the Hale Clinic has been offering Colon Hydrotherapy for over 20 years and only has skilled and experienced therapists on board.
-
Nothing but relax! A small tube will be inserted gently into your rectum aided by lubricant. The therapy will start with you lying on your side and once you are lying on your back your practitioner can gently massage your abdomen to aid the removal of waste matter. The process takes about 30 –45 minutes, during which time the therapist will explain everything whilst it is happening.
-
No. Unless you are already on a detox programme, there is no need to ‘fast’ before the session or change your diet in any way. Your practitioner will advise you on diet and nutrition, if necessary, after your first session.
-
We strongly advise that you try to avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to session and 24 hours post session.
-
Everyone is different but common reports include an increase in energy and mental clarity, reduced bloating and a feeling of being ‘lighter’
-
This really depends on the client, their health, the state of their colon and the condition being examined. Anything from one or two sessions to a course of a few sessions may be recommended over a period of time and then they may be continued afterwards for maintenance, depending on the client’s needs
